Fluoridrop

Fluoridrop 7500 is a fluorocarbon oil often used in microfluidic droplet applications. Due to its immiscibility with water, Fluoridrop 7500 is often used in droplet applications as the carrier medium surrounding the droplet.

The viscosity of Fluoridrop 7500 is closely matched to that of water and this eases problems commonly associated with pressure/flow imbalance.

Fluoridrop 7500 is compatible with fluorophilic microfluidic chips. Use Dolomite fluorophilic chips, your own fluorophilic chip or contact us to enquire about a custom-made chip. For any droplet-based application, surfactants such as FluoSurf are also necessary for droplet stabilization.

Fluoridrop 40 is a clear, colourless and odourless perfluorinated fluid ideal for use in microfluidics as a fluorocarbon carrier oil for aqueous solution-in-oil droplets in molecular biology assays. It is ideal for use with the Mitos Dropix Droplet Generation System for filling the Dropix Fluid Reservoir.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

Fluoridrop 40

Fluoridrop 40 can be used to dilute FC-40TM based FluoSurf to achieve different strengths. For users interested in using a diluted form, care should be taken that only FC-40TM - based FluoSurf is diluted with Fluoridrop 40. Fluoridrop 40 may also be used in combination with customers' own surfactant chemistry for emulsion production.

  • Fluoridrop 40 contains FC-40TM from 3M company.
  • FC-40TM is a trademark of 3M Company.
Fluoridrop 7500 When using Fluoridrop 7500, we always recommend using chips with a fluorophillic surface coating. For any droplet-based application, surfactants such as FluoSurf are also necessary for droplet stabilization. Moreover, surfactants such as FluoSurf ensure that biomolecules do not adsorb to the interface.

Fluoridrop 7500 can also be used to dilute Novec 7500-based FluoSurf to achieve different strengths. For users interested in using a diluted form, care should be taken that only NovecTM 7500 based FluoSurf is diluted with Fluoridrop 7500. Fluoridrop 7500 may also be used in combination with customers’ own surfactant chemistry for emulsion production.
